Lamone<\/i> documents available online"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve just updated our <a href=\"\/\/www.prisonersofthecensus.org\/fletcher\/\"><i>Fletcher v. Lamone<\/i> page<\/a> with the defendants&#8217; <a href=\"\/\/www.prisonersofthecensus.org\/fletcher\/MotiontoAffirm052512.pdf\">Motion to Affirm<\/a>. The plaintiffs in this case want to roll back a major civil rights victory in the state of Maryland by seeking to overturn the 2010 <a href=\"\/news\/2010\/04\/13\/maryland_law\/\">law ending prison-based gerrymandering<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A federal three-judge panel <a href=\"\/news\/2011\/12\/27\/fletcher\/\">unanimously rejected the lawsuit<\/a> in December, and the plaintiffs are now seeking to appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court. The Supreme Court will decide whether or not to take the case in about a month.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>New court documents are now available from the <i>Fletcher v.
