Source: The Census Bureau doesn't directly publish counts of correctional populations by facility type. Our calculation of the facility type according to Census Bureau comes from a comparison of 2010 Summary File 1, tables P42 (line 3) and PCT20 (lines 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9). Through matching the population numbers and through the process of elimination, we were able to properly identify all blocks in this tract.
Source: The total population number comes from the PL94-171 Redistricting Data Summary File. The group quarters counts are from the Advance Group Quarters Summary File.

Source: The Census Bureau doesn't directly publish counts of correctional populations by race/ethnicity. Our calculation of race/ethnicity comes from a comparison of 2010 Summary File 1, tables P42 (lines 2 and 3), and P29A-I (lines 27). Because the institutionalized population and correctional population of the block match, the demographic data of the institutionalized population was attributed to the correctional population.
